Women's Ministry Director
The vision of the women’s ministry is to create an intimate fellowship with Christ through his presence, ultimately leading to spiritual growth through increased awareness in health, self-esteem and the purpose of the individual woman and the community they serve.
GOALS
The specific goals of the women’s ministry include:
Provide a healthy, safe place for women to: heal, be nurtured, grow spiritually, gain confidence, learn to pray with others, learn leadership skills, test their new skills, discover their gifts and find their ministry.
- Find a community where they can give and receive care
- Strengthen their own spiritual identity
- Find acceptance as a female Christian
- Create a bond between women’s ministry members
- Mentor each other as only women can
STRUCTURE
The women’s ministry senior advisor is Pastor Clary Butler, Jr. Rev. Tammy Robinson serves as the women’s ministry coordinator. Membership is open to all female members age 16 and older of the congregation and community at large.
SCHEDULE
The ministry meets weekly. Meetings are currently schedule for the second Monday of every month at 6:30PM and every Tuesday at 7pm (Gospel Aerobics). All meetings begin with prayer and end with prayer. Meetings are held at the church unless a field trip/special event is scheduled. Topical matters are decided by the group and in consultation with the Pastor.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All participants are asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and confidentiality is stressed at every meeting.
PRAYER PARTNERS
Through the women’s ministry participants select prayer partners to support and encourage their spiritual and physical health.
NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Prior to the first meeting all interested participants are asked to take a survey to understand their spiritual and physical needs, including why they want to participate . The purpose of the survey is to:
- Collect demographics so we can know the women better;
- Identify opportunities by gauging the strengths of the women
- Identify weaknesses that will help the leaders understand what is needed most and develop strategies accordingly.
